"Your Alternative To Steel PCB Stencils using Polymeric Stencil Materials"

laser cut stencils pcb

Customer Testimonials

"Very nice! It's hard to imagine steel being any better than this. The thickness made it easy to work with and there was no concern about creasing it or bearing down hard.I definitely did that. It was chilly in the garage and the solder paste was pretty stiff. The solder looked great even the smallest pads got it right. I'd say you have yourself a winner!"

Why use high-tech, flexible circuit material stencils?

Here are Some Advantages:

Tear Resistance
  • Flexible circuit materials have excellent tear resistance created for their primary and original use, which is for flexible circuitry.
  • Material strength is important when swiping squeegee numerous times across flexible circuit material during solder paste applications.
  • Beforehand, please make sure your stencil and supplied frame are held down firmly with tape at the top and fingers at the bottom when forward and / or back swiping.
  • And during stenciling numerous PCB boards, simply roll off flexible stencil, remove and replace with another fresh PCB board.
  • Then, roll down your stencil, check again for accurate hole to pad placement, then repeat solder paste application.
Dimensional Stability
  • Laser Cut PCB Stencils remain accurate in size over many uses due to the unique chemical properties of flexible circuit materials.
  • After repeated use, you can be assured all flexible circuit material stencils we provide, will maintain original hole stability, size, and integrity throughout numerous solder paste applications.
Flexibility
  • An advantage over steel stencils is the capability of flexible materials to have solder paste spread over and through holes.
  • Flexible circuit material stencils are flexibly rolled off the PCB easily and quickly, leaving just the correct amounts of solder precisely on each solder pad before components are placed.
Thermal Resistance
  • The original function of flexible materials is to be used as flexible circuits.
  • Flexible circuit materials also need to hold up well to the laser’s heat while cutting holes, producing clean, crisp hole edges.
  • As in it's originally intended use of creating flexible circuits, the strong material withstands the necessary heat that transfers through copper and other materials affixed onto flexible circuit material.
  • It is important that flexible circuit materials hold up to near reflow toaster oven temperatures of up to 200 degrees Celsius.
  • Therefore, flexible circuit materials also needs to hold up to the laser’s quick 500 degree Fahrenheit burst of heat when cutting aperture holes.
  • Laser technology provides cutting precision and repeatable accuracy.
Low Moisture Absorption
  • It is critical over many uses, that flexible circuit materials absorb or lose as little moisture as possible so that the material keeps it’s accurate shape and stability. LaserCutPCB stencils uses only the most moisture stable materials in it's production.
  • It is recommended that Laser cut stencils apertures should be matched up with your PCB pads after each use to make sure your stencil is ready for another use.
  • For this reason, LaserCutPCBStencils.com offers discounts when purchasing more than one stencil (per Gerber file design) so that you always have another fresh stencil when using in production.
“See Through” High-Tech Material
  • For easier solder paste application, see through material assures most accurate a hole-to-pad alignment when filling the stencil hole apertures with solder paste.
  • Viewing directly through the stencil to the PCB also greatly aids quickest positioning of pads to stencil hole apertures when taping down stencil to a LaserCutPCBStencils.com supplied frame.
  • See our Tutorial Page for complete application and process instructions.
Advantages of Stabil-Flex M3-4000 .004" thickness material
  • Longest stencil life
  • Used with higher volume applications
  • Cleanest and most accurate hole cutting
  • .0045" hole depth after laser cutting for distributing the optimal amount of solder on pads
  • Most accurate release of solder paste onto PCB pads
